About the League
The league began in 1998 with * teams. The goal was to allow senior golfers aged 55 and up from clubs in the Winnipeg and surrounding areas in southern Manitoba to play friendly matches and see other courses.

Rules and Guidelines
FEES
$75 per team annual entry, plus (approx) $150 for 2 spots at wind-up tournament.
REPRESENTATIVES
Each club should have 2 players to represent their club at meetings, and to be the contact persons for the league and other club representatives.
FORMAT
Four Ball Match Play. Matches will consist of 3 two-man teams from each club. Each team will play best ball, match play. One point will be awarded for winning each nine and one point for winning the full eighteen – for a total of three points for each team (nine points for the three matches). A half point each will be allotted for ties. All play shall be from the white tees.
HOST CLUBS
The host Club provides tee times (green fees) at no charge to the visiting teams.
RANKING TEAMS FOR MATCHES
Teams should be ranked according to abilities for that particular week so that the number 1 teams from each club would play against each other, the number 2 teams would play each other and the number 3 teams would play each other:
- Team #1: Hcp 0 to 7
- Team #2: Hcp 8 to 13
- Team #3: Hcp 14 plus
MATCH DATES AND TIMES
Generally the matches are scheduled on Mondays starting at 9:30 am. Should there be a scheduling conflict, the home team representative must notify the visiting team representative at least one week in advance to reschedule. If inclement weather causes a match to be postponed, again the home team representative must reschedule with the visiting team representative.
RESULTS
The home team representative is responsible for sending in the results to the league statistician immediately following the completion of the match.
HOSPITALITY
The home team is responsible for providing a lunch and beverage for the visitors upon completion of the match.
CARTS
These are not part of the League mandate. Players wanting carts must make arrangements with the home club pro shop and pay for them themselves
DRESS CODE
Some clubs have specific dress codes. It is the responsibility of the visiting club to ensure they know and abide by the home club's code.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
- All players must be a minimum of 55 years old.
- Players must be members in good standing with the club they are representing.
- Players who are members at more than one club can only represent one club during the season, and must declare their choice before the season begins.

In the event that a club does not have regular members, or cannot fill their team from the regular members list, they may use spares from any League associated with, and playing at their club on a regular basis. However, they still must meet the handicap requirements.
TEAM ELIGIBILITY
- Teams must be fully paid up members of the league.
- Any team wishing to leave the league should provide 6 months notice.
- Any club wishing to become a member of the league should apply to the league in writing.
WIND-UP EVENT
At the conclusion of the season, there will be an event hosted by one of the member clubs where all current players will be invited to attend. Costs for this event are separate from League costs, and will be determined by the host Club. Every Club will be responsible for at least 2 entry tickets, but may be able to send more representatives if the host Club has available spots for them.
MEETINGS
- There will be an Annual General Meeting after the season has concluded to discuss issues from the recent season, league matters, and the financial statement.
- Each Club should send at least one representative.
- New league officers are nominated and elected. A tentative schedule may be available.
- It is also the time for teams to commit to the following season by paying their dues.
LEAGUE CONVENOR (President)
- Prepares and distributes the League Schedule every year.
- Acts as Chairperson at all League meetings.
- Presides over all disputes and affairs involving League matters that cannot be resolved between the two team representatives involved.
- Prepares and presents a Financial Report at the Annual Meeting.
- Provides updates to the Team Representatives as required.
- Conducts all financial transactions for the Central Seniors Golf League as required.
- Collects, retains and disperses all League revenues and expenses.
LEAGUE STATISTICIAN
- Receives the results of all matches on a weekly basis.
- Updates the standings on a weekly basis.
